Review I BlanX White Shock

BlanX White Shock Review

With the party season upon us, many of us start to think about ways we can dazzle and look our best. Even the most glitzy outfit and glamorous makeup can be enhanced with your best asset: a pearly bright white smile!

As a big tea and coffee drinker myself, white teeth are something I struggle to maintain. I recently started to notice some staining on my teeth so I was on the look out for some home teeth whitening products and then along came BlanX to my rescue!

When it comes to home teeth whitening, I usually opt for a simple whitening toothpaste. However, I've been slightly put off some of these as they can be quite abrasive and some of them just bleach stains with peroxide rather than actually removing the discolouration.

The entire BlanX White Shock range is formulated using a new whitening ingredient called Actilux which uses light to whiten teeth. All of these products are free from abrasives and peroxide.

So, how effective is this gentle at home whitening range? I've been pleased with the results I've seen since I started using this range a couple of weeks ago. My teeth look whiter and more shiny, they feel clean and smooth and my entire mouth is left feeling very minty fresh after use.

I'll now talk about each of the products I've tried in more depth.

Perhaps the most striking product from the BlanX White Shock range is the BlanX White Shock Treatment 30ml + LED Bite with Actilux (£14.99). The treatment has an intensive whitening formula that is designed to be used up to three times daily for two weeks. After brushing, you use the LED Bite for between 1 - 10 minutes to activate the whitening ingredient (Actilux). The LED bite will turn itself off after 10 minutes for maximum convenience and it's also usable with the BlanX White Shock Gel Pen. The batteries are also replaceable so there's no need to replace the LED Bite as often as the toothpaste. BlanX recommend repeating this two week treatment every 3 months to maintain maximum whiteness.

The BlanX White Shock 50ml + LED Accelerator is a whitening toothpaste with an screw on LED light which turns on every time you squeeze some product out on to your toothbrush. The LED light enhances the whitening effect of this blue toothpaste.

The BlanX White Shock 75ml toothpaste is a better value size and it can be used with the same LED Accelerator that is supplied with the BlanX White Shock 50ml toothpaste.

The BlanX White Shock Gel Pen has the same intensive whitening formula as the BlanX White Shock Treatment and it can be used with the LED Bite for better results too. This is a really convenient size so you can even whiten on the go and it only takes between 5 - 10 minutes to work!

The BlanX White Shock Mouthwash 500ml was something I was really excited about as I've wanted to try a whitening mouthwash for ages! This has everything you would expect from a regular mouthwash: an antibacterial formula and cleaning action but the light activated formula also means that the more you smile, the whiter your teeth get. What a confidence boost! This can be used with the LED Bite too for more intensive whitening.

You can find out more about Blanx on Twitter and Facebook. I've also spotted a fab Advent Calendar Competition on their Facebook page with 3 bundles of beauty goodies up for grabs including MAC and Laura Mercier! I'll be entering, will you?!

The White Shock Range is available from: Boots, Superdrug, ASDA, Sainsbury's, Tesco and Waitrose.

Beauty Saver Tip: The BlanX White Shock range is regularly on offer for considerably less than the RRP so if you're looking for a bargain, I'd recommend doing a price comparison via mySupermarket to find the best deals and offers. For instance, the BlanX White Shock 75ml Toothpaste has an RRP of £4.99 but it's currently available from ASDA for just £3.00

BlanX isn't a brand I've tried until now but I'm actually sold on these products! They're gentle, they work and are surprisingly cost effective. I also like that a lot of the products are designed to work together and once you have the LED Accelerator for instance, all you have to do is buy the re-fil 75ml toothpaste when you run out! You can also tailor BlanX White Shock to suit your own needs. Once I'm finished with my BlanX White Shock Treatment, I think that the toothpaste alone would be all I really needed to use for a while.

Are your pearly whites ready to party?!
